Roderick J. Kennedy, age 68 of Lompoc, CA, formerly of Toronto, Ontario and Marlton, New Jersey died on December 13, 2022, peacefully with his beloved wife, Soledad Kennedy, by his side.
Rod was predeceased by his father Gerald Kennedy (2/7/1998) and his younger brother, Timothy Kennedy (1/15/2019) and was hastily joined by his mother Shirley McNaughton Kennedy who passed on 12/27/2022.
Rod was born February 11, 1954, in Grace Hospital, Toronto, Canada. He is survived by the love of his life, wife, Soledad Kennedy; his sisters Candice Scola (Dan), and Laurie Campbell (Joe "bubba"); sister-in-law, Susan Kennedy; his sons, Nicholas Kennedy, "Lil Rod" Roddy Kennedy; his daughters, Miranda Lopez Kennedy and Jessica McEntire Kennedy (Johnathon); grandchildren Cayden Lopez (Samantha), Nico Kennedy, Isabella Cortez (Toni), Dixie McEntire, Conrad McEntire; and great grandson Luka Cortez.
Rod and Soledad moved into Lompoc in 1988, they decided to plant their roots and they did just that. He dedicated his time to AYSO and the Vandenberg village by coaching sports including softball, soccer, basketball, and hockey; and volunteering his time for Toys for Tots, Santa Barbara County. He is a member of the American Legion Post 211 and an associate for the Marine Corps League 1340. He also was the President of Women Marines loyal escorts for CA-11.
Selfless is what he was known for and his engaging smile of gold. There is a lot to say about a man who takes every day as, " Another day in Paradise ."
