Obituary

Ronald Maurice Stewart, 79, of Lompoc, California, fell asleep in Christ on January 16, 2016. The memorial service will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, January 24, 2016, at the Santa Barbara Christadelphian Hall, 206 Stanley Drive, Santa Barbara, California.

Ron was born in Pomona, California, on December 4, 1936. He graduated from Pasadena High School and continued on to receive his college degree in business which led to his career as an insurance broker.

Ron was married to his true love, his best friend and his fellow traveler toward the Kingdom of God, Shirley M. Stewart (Edwards), on November 24, 1997.

Ron worked in the insurance business for over 40 years and was working for Jack Clark Insurance in Solvang, California, at the time of his falling asleep. He was very involved in the Insurance Association for many years and was also active in the Barbershop Harmony Society, singing in a quartet and with the chorus for over 15 years.

Ron was baptized in the Pomona Christadelphian Ecclesia on June 13, 1953, into the saving name of Jesus Christ. His lifelong hope and goal was to be in the Kingdom on Earth which Christ is coming to establish in the very near future, fulfilling the promises to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and David. He would talk to anyone who would listen regarding his sure hope.

Ron is survived by his wife Shirley, his children Sherry Luskin (Stephen), Steven Stewart (Susie), Scott Stewart (Karrie), and Stacy Wagner (Ken), plus six grandchildren, and his brother Dean; along with his many spiritual brothers and sisters in the Christadelphian community.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Miriam Stewart as well as his brother Edwin.

Ron is asleep in Christ and awaiting the Lord descending from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.

Come Lord Jesus!
