Obituary

Ronald Paul Villalobos's journey began on Feb. 7th, 1940 in Lompoc, Ca.  He was the 7th child and 5th son out of 14 born to Cecil & Sara Villalobos. He attended many schools in our valley including Artesia, Maple, Lompoc Junior High and eventually Lompoc High school.  He withdrew from high school in 12th grade to transition into helping support his parents, brothers and sisters. Ronald met Sylvia Yanez in 1956 while they were freshman in High School and they instantly became sweethearts. Their first "date" was a bicycle ride without her parents knowing. Their love grew tremendously and as devoted Catholics, they were married on July 8th,1961 at La Purisima Catholic Church.  He knew from day one, there could be no other person that would love, cherish and care for him the way his "Sil" did. He knew she would be an amazing woman who would push him to be the best father he could be.  They immediately began their family and had five children, Clarissa Villarreal (Eddie), Annette Morales (Raul), Andrew Villalobos (Stacy), Cecilia Baca (James) and Adrienne Nunez (Scott). They created such wonderful memories along the way from camping, fishing, lake trips, softball games and kayaking. With a large family, their children followed suite and gave them 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.  This made him a very busy person from attending every sporting event, birthday, anniversary and everything else you could think of under the sun. Somehow through it all, he was able to know the when's, why's, what's and where's with everyone, thanks to his Sil.

Ron's first job was at Stadley's Market as a bag boy.  He then moved on to Moore's Department Store, Salvy's Market and eventually found his career with John's Manville (better known as JM to the Lompoc Valley).  He worked there for 35 years, where he provided a wonderful life for his Sil and their children. While working at JM, he learned many trades which included electrician, plumber, welder, and heavy duty mechanic.  His biggest enjoyment in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He touched many lives while coaching girls softball and soccer in our Lompoc Valley and has helped mold many young lives. You could always find him in the afternoon and on weekends at a park or field doing what he loved, coaching his children and grandchildren in any sport they participated in.

He is preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Sara Villalobos, Jose "Cheo" Villalobos, Michael "Mike" Villalobos, Petra Rodriguez (Villalobos), Carmen Rodriguez (Villalobos), Angelo Villalobos and Great Granddaughter Jaidyn Rodriguez.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather & great grandpa to us all. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Sylvia "Sil" Villalobos, his 5 children, 16 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be handled by Starbuck-Lind Mortuary and are as follows
