IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronnie Rae
Everett
May 30, 1943 – February 29, 2024
Ronnie "Ron" Rae Everett passed away on February 29, 2024, at the age of 80.
He was born in Glensted, Missouri on May 30, 1943. Soon thereafter, Ron's parents (Riley and Lou) moved the family west to Long Beach, Washington. During his younger years, Ron would join his Dad to help work on projects (construction and vehicle repair) and this sparked his desire to understand and fix almost anything. After graduating high school, he enlisted with the United States Air Force to serve his country and experience life beyond his small hometown.
In 1964, Ron was assigned duty at Kadena AB, Okinawa. This is where he met the love of his life, Tsuruko (Makiya) and their 57-year marriage began. They had one son in 1974 and moved around often for many different duty assignments. In 1987, Ron retired from USAF after 24 years of service. He continued work as a Special Vehicle mechanic with DOD-contractors until retiring in 2009.
Ron was a kind, warm-hearted man that loved spending time with his family and friends. He was also incredibly patient, hardworking, and quick to lend a hand to anyone needing it. He enjoyed spending time tinkering on many kinds of projects and hobbies, including cars, computers, home repair, furniture building, and video games. He loved helping his wife with landscape gardening and eating her home cooked Japanese food.
Ron is survived by his brother Jeff (Karen) and sisters, Penny (Howie Carson) and Roberta (Paul Yochim) and his wife Tsuruko, son David (Teresa), grandsons Isaac and Eric. He is preceded in death by his brother Ken (1946-2021).
Memorial services will be held at 11AM on March 30, 2024, in the chapel of Starbuck-Lind mortuary. A Celebration of Life reception will follow at the nearby Events Mission Valley building.
