IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rosa Magallanes
Barcelona
October 21, 1946 – March 14, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Rosa "Rose" Magallanes Barcelona, 78 of Lompoc, CA. She passed away peacefully on Friday, March 14th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Ormoc, Leyte, Philippines on October 21st, 1946, she was the eldest daughter of Epifanio & Ildefonsa Sinfuego. Rosa spent most of her childhood in Leyte, Philippines, before moving to Lompoc, CA, where she planted her roots. She was so excited to have been able to move to the United States; it was a dream come true!
Rosa graduated from Lompoc High School in 1964. She was a very hard worker; she helped her family by working in the fields as a teenager, which was a laborious job, but Rosa was resilient. She was last employed at Innovative Micro Technology (IMT) of Goleta before retiring. She previously worked as a wafer fab technician at Applied Magnetics of Goleta and Aratex Industrial of Lompoc where she made many amazing memories and lifetime friends along the way.
Rosa was a devoted wife to Johnny and a loving mother to Amy and Alexis. Though strict at times, she had a heart of gold. She was a strong and compassionate woman who always put others first. She loved crafts such as sewing, scrapbooking, and knitting. You could also find her playing cards, watching movies, and cooking. Most of all, she especially treasured spending time with her family; she loved those grandkids!
Rosa is survived by her daughter, Amy (Jimmy); daughter, Alexis (Lawrence); grandchildren Aysia, Kaden, Keira-Rose, Jayden, Jacob, and Jack. Along with her brothers, Tony Sinfuego and Peter Sinfuego. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Johnny, of whom she shared 45 wonderful years of marriage with; her sister, Christina; and her parents, Epifanio & Ildefonsa Sinfuego.
Rosa will be terribly missed, but what she has taught us will live on inside us. She will be remembered for her incredible humor, radiant smile, and benevolent heart.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 26th, 2025, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. The Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 27th, at 1:00 pm at the La Purisima Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
