Rosa DeLira Sanchez
A funeral mass for Rosa DeLira Sanchez, 79, of Lompoc, will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. John Fitzgerald officiating. Private burial will be held at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
A native of Lompoc and lifelong resident, Rosa was born December 18, 1931 to Miguel and Aurelia DeLira. She attended Lompoc schools and was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. Rosa was a longtime homemaker who loved her family and was especially fond of all of her grandchildren.
She died Saturday, July 9, 2011 at her home.
Survivors include her son, Salvador Sanchez of Lompoc; daughters, Rachel Ruacho of Bell Gardens, Calif., Inez Reyes of NewPort News, Virginia, Lydia Helpler of Austin, Texas, Martha Limuti, Erma Sanchez, and Cynthia Robledo, all of Lompoc; brother, Mike DeLira of Lompoc; sister, Josie Barros of Victorville, Calif.; 25 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her children, Victor Sanchez, Raymond Sanchez, Ines Lopez and Gary Sanchez.
Visitation hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
