Rose Lee Laws
Born in Oklahoma in 1926, Rose Lee (Baker) Laws was the only child of Carl and Gladys Baker. In the 1940s she married the love of her life, William "Bill" Lawry Laws. They moved to Southern California where Bill became a developer for William Lyon Homes. They raised two daughters, Cindy and Sue, who themselves had four daughters. At various times, Rosie and Bill took in and helped raise their four granddaughters, Tania Sharp, Heather Walz, Erika Walz, and Star Zemba. After Bill passed away in 1983, Rosie raised her teenaged granddaughters by herself. In 1992, she moved to Camarillo and embraced the role of being a great-grandmother. She was known as "G.G." and loved to spoil her grandchildren. In 2005, she moved to Lompoc to live with Tania (Sharp) Jacobson and her husband Danno. She enjoyed playing bridge and attending Lompoc Foursquare Church.
She is survived by her four granddaughters and nine great-grandchildren. (Erika Dicus, Heather Ferrero, Tania Jacobson, Star Zemba, Scotty Roberts, Mark Roberts, Will Ferrero, Davis Ferrero, Austin Ferrero, Jaycee Jacobson, Daniela Jacobson, Ty Jacobson and Jet Jacobson). She was full of good, practical advice and prided herself on keeping her family connected.
Her celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 26th at Lompoc Foursquare Church (125 N. C Street, Lompoc, CA). In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Lompoc Foursquare Church Benevolence Fund.
