Rose K. Mock, 97, of Lompoc, was born in Burke, Washington on Aug. 1, 1909 and was the daughter of Carl and Katherine Reckla Schmuz. Her family homesteaded in Grant County in 1905 and she attended grammar school in the country school and graduated from Quincy High School. Rose attended business college in Wenatchee, Washington and later lived in San Diego for over 60 years. She was the last surviving sibling of Carl and Katherine and lived her last years with a grandniece in Lompoc.
Rose died Friday, January 5, 2007 in Lompoc. Private graveside services will be held in San Diego with burial next to her husband, Lee, who preceded her in death in 1990.
She is survived by her son, Richard Finnigan of Olympia, Washington; a grand- daughter, Stacy and several nieces and nephews.
