Obituary
Rowena C. Ladd of Lompoc died Saturday, November 22, 2008, at the age of 92.
Rowena was born April 24, 1916 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Raised and educated in Ardmore, she graduated from Ardmore High School.
Rowena came to Santa Barbara County in 1950. In addition to raising her family of seven children she worked as a waitress in the 101 and the Blue Ox restaurants in Santa Barbara.
Rowena is survived by hr sons Warner Baxter of Scottsdale, Arizona, Bill Baxter of Woodstock, Maryland, Jim Baxter of Campbell, California and Allan Baxter of Pacifica, California, her daughters Donna Owens of Lompoc, Anita Perry of Rio Vista, California and Leslie Middleton of Santa Barbara, a brother Wilton Chappell of Santa Maria, her sisters Mary Helen of Florida and Glenna Gudgeon of Lompoc, 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 1, 2008 at 1 pm in the chapel of the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. Interment will follow in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
