Roxie D. Korenko of Lompoc went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 18, 2010, at the age of 87.
Roxie was born June 4, 1922, in Zap, North Dakota to Decatur and Frances Ford. She married Alex Korenko in 1943 in Butte, Montana then moved to Helper, Utah in 1956. She has been a resident of Lompoc since 1988.
Roxie was a member of Zion Assembly Church of God. She was a faithful Christian and prayer warrior for 63 years. She was a missionary in the church and about the community telling people of Christ's love for them. She gave her life to God, the church and her family.
She is survived by her daughter Frances (Larry) Gonzales of Colorado, son Lewis (Janet) Korenko of Price, daughter Alexis (Vicente) Garcia of Lompoc, seven grandchildren, Jodi Gonzales, Jason Gonzales, Joshua (Vanessa) Gonzales, Caroline (Mike) Branson, Christopher (Jill) Korenko, Michelle (John) Kelly and Jared (Lisa) Korenko, 16 great grandchildren, a sister Muriel Zeren of Butte, Montana and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992.
A private family service will be held at a later date. The arrangements are in the care of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
