Our beloved Ruben Philip Gaitan, Sr. 36, of Lompoc, California went to be with our Good Lord on March 12, 2023.  He was born on March 22, 1986, to Robert and Gloria Gaitan.

Ruben is survived by his son Ruben, Jr. mother Gloria, brothers Raymond and Anthony, and sisters Tanya and Monica.  He is preceded in death by his father Robert, Sr., and brother Robert, Jr. grandparents Paul, Sr. and  Lupe Gaitan, Joe, and Delfina DeLira.

Ruben left behind many loving and lasting memories.  His presence will surely be missed by many.  As a young child, Ruben loved to watch cartoons, play video games, POGS, and Teck Decks.  He also played organized baseball for a decade throughout Little League and Babe Ruth, being an All-Star in both respective Leagues.  Ruben didn't really like school much, but went anyways, sometimes, and received his GED.  As an adult, he was a devoted father who enjoyed teaching and coaching the fundamentals of the game of baseball to his son and peers. A hustler from birth, Ruben always found a way to make money and provide for his family.  He began his career as a delivery driver in northern Los Angeles County, then became an independent contractor for a decade.  He also excelled in his real estate ventures.  Ruben enjoyed spending time with his family, barbeques, and ball games.  A die-hard Dodger fan who enjoyed the fruits of his labor.  Last but definitely not least, Ruben is a born-again Christian who always gave glory to God for his success.  Ruben always showed up for his peoples and was the definition of a stand-up guy.  Ruben's legacy will continue through his son and the Gaitan family.  G's up!

Ruben's visitation will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023, from 5-8 pm, funeral service Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at 10 am both held at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary Chapel followed by burial at the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
