Ruben Gilbert Zapien Hernandez gained his angel wings on March 21, 2016. Ruben was born on December 31, 1984 to Lisa (Cornejo) and Ronnie Hernandez. He was born and raised in Lompoc and took great pride in his hometown. He graduated from Lompoc High School Class of 2003. Ruben had a big passion for music and football. He found love and happiness spending time with his nephew baby Ronnie, whom he loved dearly. Ruben found peace in hiking, sitting by the ocean and any outdoor adventure he could find.
Ruben was preceded in death by his grandmothers Frances and Blanche Hernandez. He is survived by his parents, Brothers Ronnie and Cory Hernandez, Sister Gabrielle Hernandez; grandparents Gilbert and Dolores Cornejo; sister in law Alejandra Casillas; nephew Little Ronnie; longtime friend and companion Patricia Campos, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
