Russan "Rusty" Adams, a beloved resident of Lompoc, California, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on March 21, 1953, in Arizona, Rusty lived a life full of dedication, warmth, and joy, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
A proud graduate of Lompoc Senior High School, Class of 1971, Rusty embarked on a fulfilling career with the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES). Throughout her career, she held various roles including Visual Merchandiser, manager of Military Clothing, Garden Center, and AAFES Main Store. Rusty's commitment to her work was only surpassed by her love for gardening and her golden retriever, Big Boy.
Rusty's vibrant personality was characterized by her boisterous spirit, silly humor, stubborn determination, and unwavering loyalty as a friend. She was a grandparent to Victoria Kurz, Brenden Wilder, Kalifornia Kurz, Angel Wilder, Lorne Leeds Jr., and Zacheriah Leeds. Rusty's love extended to her niece, Ashley Adams, who held a special space in her heart.
Preceded in death by her parents, Richard Sr. and Helga Adams, and her brother, Richard Adams Jr., Rusty is survived by her children, Michael Wilder and Melissa Leeds (Lorne). The legacy of kindness and laughter that Rusty leaves behind will be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of Rusty's life will be held on July 11th, 2025, from 1pm-5pm at 1221 Iris Ct. Lompoc, Ca. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Rusty's best friend Donna Kubick, whose support for Rusty has been invaluable.
Rusty will be remembered for her infectious zest for life and the profound love she shared with family and friends. Her spirit will continue to inspire those who were touched by her generosity and joy.
