Russell James Bedore, 88, of Lompoc passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2010. Russell was born to Jesse and Irene Bedore on December 10, 1921 in Earl Park, Indiana.
Russell was retired from the Air Force after 26 years of service, including serves in Europe in World War II as a waist gunner on a B24. After retiring from the military he worked for FEC as a Maintenance Controller in Satellite Tracking for 15 years.
Preceding him in death was his wife of 58 years, Roberta. Russell is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Lester and Betty Bedore of Manteno, IL, 3 sons, Steven, James and Jon, Daughter-in-law, Cheryl, 2 Grandchildren, Alica and Damon and 1 Great Grandson, Ashton.
A visitation will be on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Starbuck-Lind Chapel from 4-8pm, with a vigil at 6pm. The Mass will be on Friday, March 12, 2010 at 11am at the La Purisma Catholic Church, followed by military honors and interment at the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
