Ruth Virginia Strube, 88, of Lompoc passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2009 with her loving son, Edwin Strube by her side. Ruth was born September 14, 1921 to Charles and Lutie Windrath in Dakota, Iowa. She was raised and educated in Iowa. Ruth married Everett Strube in Bethany, Missouri on January 17, 1943, after Everett had return from serving in the Army in France during World War II. The two would be married for over 50 years.

Everett and Ruth moved from Iowa to Los Angeles, and finally settled in Lompoc. They worked in the aerospace industry, Ruth working as a secretary for over 20 years. They would have two children, Edwin and John Strube. Besides her family, her other loves were playing bingo and bridge.

Ruth is survived by her son, Edwin Stube of Lompoc, granddaughters; Dr. Dena Engel of Nashville, Tennessee and Erin Pettine of Poway, California, and great-grandsons; Nathan and Dylan Pettine of Poway. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett and son, John Strube.

The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of the Lompoc Comprehensive Care Center for the great care they gave her. In Lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the charity of your choice in Ruth's name.
