Obituary

Sally Goetsch, wife, mom, grandma, great grandma, aunt, sister and friend went home to our Lord on March 22, 2011. Sally was born in Denver, Colorado on Nov. 22, 1934. She lived her life to the fullest.
Professionally she taught elementary school for 12 years and later, after moving to Lompoc in 1978, worked as a real estate broker for over 30 years.
Her relationships with her family, friends and especially with her Lord were most important to her. She devoted much of her life to her church ministries and community philanthropy.
Sally's favorite things to do were camping, sailing and kayaking, cooking, various physical fitness disciplines, and sitting by the fire sharing laughs, good conversation and a glass of wine with friends and family. Wherever there was water and a beach, she felt at peace and at home. She had a special ability to see the good in all people and life's experiences and challenges. She gave of herself in ways that touched the hearts of many. While in the hospital the last several months she made sure each and every person who worked with her felt appreciated and cared about. She was the perfect example of grace. Sally loved and was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.
Sally is survived by the light of her life, husband of 55 years, Marno; her four children, Sue Perry, Mike Goetsch, Mark Goetsch and Sharyl Priest and their spouses; her brother, Jack Patchett; her nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, she requested that donations be made to The Red Shirt Project – a mission project ministering to the people of the village of Red Shirt on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. Donations can be made to St. Mary's Red Shirt Project, care of the church. A celebration of Sally's life will be held at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, located at 2800 Harris Grade Rd., Lompoc, CA 93436, on Wednesday, March 30th at 3:00.
