Sally Louise McCarthy (Chilson) born May 19, 1934 to Charles and Dorothy Chilson. She grew up in Oregon, Massachusetts, and finally California. She met the love of her life at a dance in Lompoc and was married a year later.  She and Bob made Lompoc their home and had two wonderful boys.  She enjoyed sewing , flower arranging, and painting.  She was known to have participated in the annual flower festival  parade and to show off her flower arrangements at the veterans memorial building.  She enjoyed painting landscapes of various places around the county.  Sally and Bob loved to travel, whether it be with their camp trailer or cruises both down many rivers and along the coast.

She is survived by sons, Kenneth and Debra McCarthy of Merced, Ca. and Rod McCarthy of Lompoc.  She is also survived by her sister Charlotte Slade of Lompoc.  She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and one great grandchild.   She is predeceased by her husband Robert of 69 years and parents Charles and Dorothy.

Per her request, she will be cremated and laid to rest at the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery wall next to her beloved husband.
