In loving memory we celebrate the life of Sally R. Terrones, who passed away on September 25, 2008. She was 80 years old. Sally was born on September 30, 1927 to parents Max Romero and Pablita Lopez Romero in Bingham County, Utah. Her family moved to Lompoc in 1942, where she resided for most of her life. She was married to Ramon A. Terrones on December 30, 1945 at La Purisima Catholic Church – (what is now the parish hall.) They were happily married for fifty-five years. Sally was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a daughter Laura and her brother Manuel Romero.
She is survived by her children: Cynthia (Rey) Garife, Armando (Janie) Terrones of San Diego, Ruben Terrones, Vincent Terrones, Victor Terrones and Roslyn (Tommy) Aguilar, 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Amelia Standen, Cordy Pacheco & Phoebe Ostlie of Lompoc, sisters-in-law, Betty (Harry)Leong and Frances (Joe) Hernandez of San Jose, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Sally worked and retired from Thrifty Drugstore. She was the wedding coordinator for La Purisima Catholic Church – a job she greatly loved. She helped coordinate weddings and quinceaneras and many times played the music for these ceremonies.
She was a member of La Purisma Catholic Church, a Eucharistic minister, and a member of the Secular Franciscan Order, Father Solanus Casey Fraternity of San Lorenzo Seminary. But most of all, she was a loving and loyal wife, a caring, dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a truly kind and generous person. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
The family would like to thank Dr. Kiran Mariwalla of Sansum Clinic, the staff, nurses and CNA's of Lompoc Skilled and Rehab Center and Lompoc Hospital for the dignified and gentle care she received.
