Faithful, loving father, wonderful son and loyal brother to his family and loved ones. Salome Romero Echeveria III answered the Lord's call November 20, 2012 at 5:35 p.m. at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
Born on March 12, 1963 in San Jose, California. He graduated from Santa Teresa High School in San Jose.
Salome grew to be a man full of good spirit and humor. A man who went out of his way to make the lives of those around him full of joy and fun. A talented and artistic man who loved to explore electronics, who thrived on learning the inner workings of any mechanical device. An accomplished mechanic who custom built many vehicles in his time.
He is survived by his father Salome Jr. his mother Edilia, and sisters, Elizabeth Telly of Tulare, Catherine Echeverria of Lompoc, Rebecca Echeverria-Cox of Lompoc, Laura Anello of San Jose, Lucy Gomez of Visalia, and brother Martin Echeverria of Lompoc.
He added light to this world with two wonderful children, Salome Romero Echeverria IV and Patricia Rae Echeverria and shared his life and home with longtime love Susan Robertson.
In addition, his memory will live on in the numerous nieces and nephews that were blessed to be part of his life.
The Echeverria family would like to extend their thanks to the MICU staff at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. Their care and compassion for Salome and our family from the beginning of treatment until his final days was above and beyond and greatly appreciated by the family. Until we reunite again, God keep our beloved safe and at peace.
A Rosary and Vigil service will be celebrated 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary under the auspices of La Purisima Catholic Church. Burial will follow on Thursday morning at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
