Salvador B. Mojarras of Lompoc died Sunday, July 24, 2011 at the age of 79.

Salvador was born November 29, 1931 in El Centro, California. He was raised and educated in Nayarit, Mexico. He returned to the United States as a teenager, and at the age of 21 he married Isac Moreno in Oregon.

Formerly of Delano he has been a resident of Lompoc since 1957. He was a forklift operator for Celite mining for 29 years and was a member of the J. M. Club. An avid fisherman he loved the beach, riding his bicycle and watching his grandchildren. He enjoyed the local air shows, Flower Festival food and life in Lompoc.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Salvador, Jr. and Gloria Mojarras of Lompoc, daughter and her husband Alice C. and Michael Riggs of Lompoc, daughter and her husband Rosalie Santos and Juan Ochoa of Lompoc, his step children Michelle Watts, Jesse Lee, Michael Lee all of Lompoc, Mark Lee of Wichita Falls, Texas, sisters Consuelo Fuentes of Santa Maria, Esperanza Guzman and brother Rudy Montoya both of Earlimart, 21 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

The visitation will be Wednesday, July 27, from 4 to 8 pm and the funeral service on Thursday, July 28, at 10 am at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. Cremation will be followed by interment at the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
