Sandi Mesikep (Michael) was finally reunited with the love of her life on November 22, 2021. Her beloved husband of 47 years, Mati Mesikep, died in 2012, and Sandi spent the last nine years talking about how much she missed him.

Sandi was born in San Antonio, Texas on January 22, 1945, to Samuel and Dorothy Micheal.  She had one sister Patricia, who she loved dearly.  Sandi came to Lompoc in 1955, as her father was in the Air Force.  She graduated from Lompoc Senior High School in 1963 and attended Allen Hancock College.  It was during that time she met Mati.

Sandi was a wonderful mother and grandmother.  She loved raising her family and wore many hats, from cub scout den mother, to homeroom mom, to referee of two boys.  Sandi loved to cook and hosted many family gatherings over the years.  She even worked part time at "A Matter of Taste" when her boys got older.  Sandi was one of the most positive people in the world.  No challenge was ever too big for her and she always looked at the bright side of life, with a smile on her face.

Sandi was preceded in death by her father, mother, and her husband.  She is survived by her sister Pat Ouverson of Crossville, Tennessee, married to Gary, her two sons Mark Mesikep D.D.S. of Yukon, Oklahoma, married to Gwen, and Michael Mesikep of Los Olivos, California married to Maggie.  Sandi is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service for Sandi at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery on December 3, 2021, at 2:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to the Lompoc Valley Historical Society, P.O. Box 88 Lompoc, CA 93438-0088.  Arrangements are under the direction of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
