Scott Leyva went home to be with Jesus on October 31, 2006.
He was born January 2nd, 1981 to Clifford Robert Leyva and Natalie Susan (Henderson) Leyva in Santa Barbara, California.
Scott was preceded in death by his beloved sister Michelle in 1991, and is survived by his parents, Cliff and Susan, brother Eric, sisters Julie and Leann, all from Lompoc. Maternal grandparents, Wayne Henderson, Carol Henderson, and fraternal grandparents Clifford A. Leyva and Millie Zazueta-Ellison, and his infant nephew Caiden Leyva also survive him. He also had numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
Scott was very talented in several areas. He sang and played several instruments, mostly guitar, composed and recorded several musical projects. He also was an avid reader and enjoyed books of many genres. He wrote meaningful poems and hilarious stories. His forte was his ability to speak eloquently, which he applied enthusiastically at the Lompoc Starbuck's drive-thru. He had also enjoyed sports including roller hockey, rollerblading, skateboarding, baseball, and frisbee golf.
Scott graduated from Lompoc High School in 1999, and attended Allan Hancock College and Santa Barbara City College. He aspired to become a teacher, but then decided to apply his many talents in an entrepreneurial direction.
We will always remember and cherish his sense of humor, extreme intelligence, and love for all of us. We will miss him greatly, but will see him again when we meet in Heaven.
We will celebrate his life on Monday, November 6, 2006 at Lompoc Foursquare Church, 125 North C St., at 2pm.
