Sharon Lee Hill
December 1, 1945 – March 27, 2025
Sharon Lee Hill, a cherished sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, in Lompoc, California, surrounded by her loving family. She was 79 years old.
Born on December 1, 1945, in Modesto, California, to Anna Mae Tinney and Christopher Columbus Lawrence, Sharon was a spirited and creative individual from a young age. She spent her formative years in California and graduated from Lompoc High School, the town she would eventually call home.
Sharon had a true artist's soul. Her boundless imagination brought joy and wonder to all who knew her. She found happiness in creating elaborate cartoon drawings, dressing up as her whimsical characters to entertain her family, and spending countless hours watching horror films, game shows, and investigative TV programs. Her creativity was infectious, and she had a knack for turning everyday moments into something magical.
She adored animals—especially her beloved dog, Forrest, who was her loyal companion and best friend.
Sharon is survived by her sister, Nancy Tabor; her children, Tamara Lynn Kelso, Wendy Marie Wortham, Cindy Ann Daniels, and Jerry Lee Thomas Jr.; her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as her beloved niece, nephew, and extended family. She was predeceased by her mother, Anna Mae Tinney, and her stepfather, Nathaniel Tinney.
A memorial service to celebrate Sharon's life will be held at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary in Lompoc, California, on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the hospice care team for their compassion and support during Sharon's final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASPCA in Sharon's name, honoring her deep love for animals.
As Irving Berlin once wrote, "The song is ended, but the melody lingers on…"
Sharon Lee Hill—adventurer, dreamer, free spirit—will be remembered for her vivid imagination, loving heart, and the joy she brought into the lives of those around her.
