Obituary

It is with broken hearts we announce the unexpected passing of Sharon Lynn (Parson) Obert.

Sharon was born to parents Robert and Arlene Parson, on 02/08/1955 in Lompoc, CA.

She was the 3rd generation to grow up in Santa Ynez Valley and graduated from Santa Ynez Valley Union High School in 1973. Sharon spent many days at the family ranch on Santa Rosa Road running wild and free with the animals and in the fields with her siblings, uncles, and many cousins.

Sharon's first job was at Birkholm's Bakery in Solvang, CA. At the age of 18, she started working for Santa Ynez Valley Bank in Solvang. In 1973, SYVB was bought out by Mid-State Bank and Sharon later became an Operations Manager working at the Buellton, Orcutt and Lompoc branches for approximately 20 years. Upon leaving Mid-State Bank, she managed her father's yogurt shop, LipSmackers in Solvang. In 2001 she joined the Tower Property Management group. She was a familiar face with Tower for more than 10 years.

From childhood through adulthood, she enjoyed spending a day in the sun at one of our local beaches or even in her backyard. She loved gardening, her furbabies, family get-togethers and beach camping. The day she became a grandma was the happiest day of her life. Her favorite days were spent with her grandkids, and they loved baking cookies with their Grandma Daisy.

In 1974, she married Randy Obert of Buellton, CA. Randy was serving in U.S. Air Force. Soon after their marriage they went to Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan. In the early 80's, Sharon returned to the Valley and in 1985 they moved to Lompoc, CA. In 1996, they divorced, but were both devoted to staying active in the life of their daughter and grandchildren.  Sharon never left Lompoc.

Sharon was united with her grandson, Jakob in Heaven along with her beloved dog Daisy.

Sharon is survived by her parents, Bob Parson and Arlene Alexander, brother Marvin Parson, sister Janeen (Rudi) Mauldin, daughter, Lynnsy Hamilton-Obert, grandchildren Ryley and Hayley Daltorio and  Alexander Coggin, nephews Chris and Jared Mauldin, Jeremy, Philip and Scott Parson, and Chad Lorge, great nieces and nephews; Tegan, Cadence, and Delani Mauldin, Madison, Paxton, Parker, Cali, Ethan, Peyton and Paisley Parson, uncles Bill Parson, Larry and Les Alexander, and numerous cousins.

The family has entrusted Starbuck-Lind Mortuary with the arrangements. A funeral service is scheduled for June 10th, 1pm at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. Chris Mauldin, her nephew, will officiate the ceremony.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,

the Courage to change the things I can,

and the Wisdom to know the difference.
