Sherry Johnson, 53 passed away on December 25th after an eight-month battle with cancer. Sherry loved gardening, playing guitar and in her younger years running.
Born in Anaheim, Sherry's parents moved the family to Hawaii when she was 13, and after her older sister passed away of cancer and her daughter graduated from high school, she moved back to California settling in Lompoc. Sherry always said she felt like Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz coming home.
She was ready to go home to the loving arms of her heavenly father. Her daughter believes that God gave her the very thing she wanted for Christmas.
Sherry's memorial service will be held on January 8, at 11 am at Bethany Lutheran Church located at 135 South E Street in Lompoc, and is open to all who wish to celebrate Sherry Johnson's life and want to say goodbye to this beloved child of God.
Sherry is survived by her only daughter Jessica Johnson and he daughter's fiancé Joseph Funk, her father Henry Johnson, her grandmother Phyllis Johnson, brother Scott Johnson and five nieces.
Sherry's family would like to thank all the nurses who provided her care and all the prayer warriors who prayed fiercely for Sherry and her family.
