Shirley Elizabeth Bellrose of Lompoc passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at the age of 74.
The visitation will be on Tuesday, August 4, from 9-10 am and the funeral service at 10 am in the chapel of the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary, with the Pastor Robert D. (Bob) Robison of North Avenue Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
Shirley was born July 28, 1934, in Santa Monica, California to Chester and Ida Penney. She married Robert N. Bellrose on December 5, 1956, in Hagerstown, Maryland. She worked as a circulation clerk for The Lompoc Record for 20 years. Shirley was involved in Cub Scouts and became the first female cub master while in Germany. She loved her grandchildren and crafts.
Shirley was preceded in death by husband Robert Bellrose in 2005, and her son Raymond Bellrose in 1993. She is survived by sons Donald Bellrose of Paso Robles, David Bellrose, Ronald Bellrose, and Robert W. Bellrose of Lompoc, her sisters Janet Thorn of St. Louis, MO, Phyllis Wade of Santa Monica, CA, brother Paul Johnson of Henderson, NV, and Grandchildren Justin, Brian, Amber, Tiffany, Alyssa and Jennalyn.
