Stella "Grammy" Anderson of Lompoc died at Comprehensive Care Center on Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at the age of 84.
Stella was born August 4, 1925, in Fullerton, California to Alejo and Consuelo Araujo. Formerly of Santa Monica, she has been a resident of Lompoc since 1964.
A lifelong homemaker and caregiver, Stella worked part time as a playground aid at Hapgood and Fillmore Elementary Schools. She also worked part time as a campus monitor at Lompoc High School. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting, crocheting and embroidery. She was a member of Lompoc Foursquare Church.
Stella is survived by her children and their spouses, Linda (Don) Garner of Escondido, California, Patty (Troy) Carpenter of Huachuca City, Arizona, Susan Araujo and husband David Stetson of Tucson, Arizona, Frank (Mila) Araujo of Dublin, California, Jeri Araujo-Juarez of Cedar City, Tina (Rod) Davis of Lompoc, her brothers Adolph Araujo of Florence South Carolina, Alex Araujo of Rosarita Beach, Mexico, David Araujo of Diamond Bar, California, her sisters Martha Barajas of Lompoc, and Sarah Aughton-Woodruff of Huntington Beach, California. She had 18 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 17 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Stella was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eugene Anderson, her sister Esther Morgan and her grandson R.J. Davis.
The visitation will be on Tuesday, October 27th from 4-7 pm at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. Pastor Bernie Federmann will conduct the memorial service on Wednesday, October 28th at 10 am at Lompoc Foursquare Church. A graveside service will follow in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
