Obituary

Stephen James Crummy, 71, passed away on February 1, 2020. He was born to Lucille and Andrew Crummy on October 7, 1948 in Norfolk, Virginia. He lived in Lompoc for most of his life, graduating from Lompoc High School in 1966, where he ran track. He graduated from Cal Poly in 1970 with a Bachelor's degree in Latin American History. He married Nancy Augsbury and they had two children, Andrea and Joshua. He worked for many years as a DJ for Lompoc radio stations, most notably KROC. His passion was working as a Sports Reporter for Lompoc Record and Santa Barbara News-Press. He loved emceeing various Sports events and announcing games for local high schools. Many children will remember him as a substitute teacher or as the "Jump House guy." He also served La Purisima Church as their Sound mixer and usher.

He is survived by his children Andrea (Kevin) Siford of Baltimore, Maryland and Joshua Crummy of Tahoma, California. He also leaves behind his siblings, Louise Brown, Carol (Dustin) Hoffman, Bob (Christina) Cromby, Chuck (Donata) Cromby, and Julie (Kurt) Schmidt. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Ann Rocha, Margo Conner and Maria Stoneking, and brother Andrew Crummy.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to Catholic Charities or your local animal shelter. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 1-5 pm at Ocean Park at Surf Beach. Attendees are asked to wear their favorite sports team attire.
