Stephen Thomas Malone born in Drogheda, Ireland passed in Ballabio, Italy, Lecco province peacefully following a bicycle accident.
He was 60 years young and an elite cyclist and runner. As a coach he made you believe in yourself, a belief that will last forever. His kindness and infectious personality befriended everyone. Stephen's children were four-legged and furry; Puka, Gizmo, Lola, Bella and Hannah. He was a world traveler and lived 20 years in Hawaii managing a very successful Scuba Diving business and Florist.
He moved to California in 1995, with his mate and close friend, Cecilia Ramos. In late 2004, he bought land in Cebada Canyon, Lompoc, building likely the largest "Yurt" possible. He enjoyed the Lompoc and Santa Ynez Valley cycling venues, competitions, triathlons and golf, not only for the competition but the camaraderie and friendships that they fostered. He was a Marshall at Marshalia Golf Course the last few years where he thoroughly enjoyed being outdoors and had a love of the game.
He is survived by three siblings, Al Malone in Hawaii, Thomas Malone, sister Marie Malone in Canada and Hannah his Catahula leopard dog.
Services to be held at Marshalia Golf Club on Sunday, June 1st at 11:00 am.
