Obituary

Steven T. Lewis, 62, of Ventura and formerly of Lompoc, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at his home. He was born in Sacramento, California on December 7, 1947 to Thomas and Betty Lewis. He grew up in Lompoc and graduated from Lompoc High School with the class of 1966. Steve attended San Diego State University and graduated in 1970. For the past 19 years, he worked for Applied Silicone Corporation as a controller in Santa Paula and guided the company through dramatic growth in the bio-medical and related silicone specialty business. He was intelligent, skilled, quick to adapt to changing technologies, patient, kind, and determined. His colleagues and friends trusted and respected his advice. He was liked for his special qualities. His sense of humor and quick wit was appreciated by all. He loved to go fishing especially in Alaska and camp with family and friends at Refugio Beach. He enjoyed family reunions at Lake Tahoe and Laughlin. Steve is survived by his mother Betty Lewis of Lompoc, his sister and brother in law Betsy and Pat Brannigan, two nieces Cayla Brannigan and Ada Crawford and three great nieces and nephews all of Mesa AZ. He was preceded in death by his father Thomas B. Lewis and brother Thomas B. Lewis, Jr. Your kind expressions of sympathy honoring Steve have been a great comfort to his family. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday January 23, 2010 at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary with burial following at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation hours will be today from 4 to 6 p.m. at the mortuary. Pallbearers will be Alastair Winn, Phil Galardo, Michael Main, Jim Reed, Mati Mesikep, and Pat Brannigan.
