Sue (Marvelle) Marshall was born November 1, 1935 in Trenton, Missouri to the late Gerald and Frances Harris. She traveled extensively in Peru and the United States with her family while growing up, including Hawaii during WWII. She is preceded in death by her sister Marilyn Ayotte and is survived by her sister Tootsie Diaz.
On November 29, 1952 she married her beloved husband Charles Marshall who she now joins in heaven. Long time Lompoc residents since 1960, Sue shared her love of camping, creativity, (sewing and crocheting), cooking (especially her famous deviled eggs and popcorn balls), and playing numerous games including her favorites, Bingo and Bunko with her sons Edward (Gloria), Scotty (Linda), and Larry (Katie) and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild who all loved her dearly. She never missed a sporting event involving her family.
Sue was energetic, talented, persistent, hard-working, go-getter. The word "can't" was not in her vocabulary. She was employed by Hallmark until she lost her battle to cancer which she fought with grace and determination.
She was an inspiration to her family and taught us so much. We can only hope to make her proud by carrying on her legacy; her unwavering love of family. She never stopped being a mother, caring for us until her last day.
We would like to thank the wonderful staff at Lompoc Hospital, especially Brandon and Paul. Services, at the request of the family, will be private.
