Svend was born in Dagmar, Montana to K.P. and Thyra Lindegaard. The family then moved to Solvang, California, where he grew up.
Svend attended Santa Ynez Valley Union High School. Svend served his country in the U.S. Airforce, stationed in Greenland as a station fire captain. Later in life, he served in civil service at Vandenberg, Air Force Base, and for the county of Santa Barbara.
Svend is survived by Jeanne Lindegaard, his wife, friend, and traveling companion of over 46 years.
Svend is also survived by (3) siblings, Otto, Ruth, and Ester, (5) adult children, (11) grandchildren, and (8) great-grandchildren.
Svend is best known for his hearty laugh, gentle soul, and long stories.
A graveside service for Svend will be held at the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at 11 am.
