Theodore "Ted" Bisi

Theodore "Ted" Bisi, 87, passed away in Lompoc on Wednesday, May 27th after complications from a fractured leg.

Ted Bisi spent his entire life in Lompoc. He was born in the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Raffaele Muscio, at 320 East Locust Avenue, Lompoc. Raffaele Muscio and his wife Sylvia Tomasini, both came from Someo, Switzerland. They were wed in San Francisco.

Ted's mother, Della Muscio, was from Los Alamos. His father Felice Bisi immigrated from Brioni, Switzerland. Della and Felice were married in Lompoc in 1920. Many of Felice's nine siblings immigrated to the Lompoc area and became farmers. Several relatives are still living in Brioni, Switzerland.

Ted graduated from Lompoc High School in 1939. After graduation he spent several years working with his parents in the cream dairy business. After which he started farming on his own. For the past 70 years he has been farming dry beans & grain as well as running a cattle ranching operation in the Santa Lucia Canyon and Mission Canyon area north of Lompoc on property that was leased from Union Oil Company.

Ted planted corn, tomatoes and pumpkins at his home in Miguelito Canyon. The pumpkins where donated to several local elementary schools in the area.


Ted is survived by his brother-in-law, Thomas Becker Sr. of Aumsville, Oregon and his nine nieces and nephews, Thomas Becker Jr. of Medford, Oregon, John Becker of Newport, Oregon, James Becker of Walnut Creek, Oregon, Timothy Becker of Tigard, Oregon, Mary Nolan of Fremont, California, Anne Jantzi of Medford, Oregon, Jean Hilary of Portland, Oregon, Margaret Grimsted of Vancouver, Washington, Rosemary Reynolds of Newport Beach, California, 27 great nieces and nephews and 5 great-great nieces and nephews. His dear friends Pat and Elona Smith of Lompoc also survive Ted.

Ted was predeceased by his sister Silvia Francesca Becker of Newport, Oregon and nephew Michael Paul Becker of, Lake Forest, California.

The visitation will be Friday, June 12th from 4-7 pm at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary with the recitation of the rosary at 6 pm. The mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at La Purisima Catholic Church on Saturday the 13th of June at 10 a.m. Following the mass, Ted will be buried next to his parents at the Lompoc Cemetery.
