Obituary

Teresa Diane Belluz, 66, of Lompoc, passed away after a long struggle with dementia at Ped Flor's Residential Care on July 17, 2017.

Teresa was born in Lompoc on December 1, 1950, and grew up horseback riding at her home on Santa Rosa Road. She was an active member of the Lompoc Assembly of California Rainbow Girls and participated in many school activities. Teresa graduated from Lompoc High School in 1968, and was a runner up for homecoming queen in 1967. She had an active social life and enjoyed spending time with her friends. Many of her friendships continued throughout her life.

In 1970, Teresa married her high school sweetheart, Edward Belluz. Two years later, Teresa and Ed were blessed with the birth of their first daughter, Michele Lynn. It wasn't until eleven years later that Teresa and Ed would be blessed again with the birth of their second daughter, Ashley Laura Marie in 1983. Together, Teresa and Ed spent 47 loving years raising their family, and enjoying many wonderful adventures to South Lake Tahoe, road trips through Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and Arizona, a special trip to Hawaii and cruising through the Panama Canal.

Teresa spent most of her professional career in the aerospace industry at Vandenberg Air Force Base, ultimately retiring in 2012, from United Launch Alliance due to her dementia progression. During the 41-year long career, she assisted in various missile launches while working for several missile defense companies including McDonnell Douglas and Boeing.

Teresa will always be remembered for her infectious laugh, welcoming smile, and her heartwarming generosity. She was always there for anyone who needed her; opening her heart and her home. She was an avid reader, loved animals and always tried to sweet talk her husband into taking in any lost pet that her daughters may have found (which didn't often work). She enjoyed a good laugh, even if it was at her expense and would go out of her way to put a smile on your face.

Teresa is survived by her loving husband Ed Belluz, daughters Michele (Lenard) Rodriguez and Ashley (Craig) Cisek, her grandchildren Lennie and Jake Rodriguez, along with brothers in law, sisters in law and numerous nieces and nephews.

Teresa is proceeded in death by her father Tommy Gann, her mother Thelma Miller, and her twin brothers Larry and Gary Gann.

The family would also like to make a special note of thanks to Ped Flor Alejandro, LLC for their care of Teresa over the past three years and to Central Coast Hospice for their transitional care at the end of Teresa's life.

The graveside funeral service will be Monday, July 24, 2017, at 10am in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice in Teresa's honor.
