Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Thomas Alexander Jr. announces his passing on May 16, 2026, he had just turned 60 years old. Tom led a life filled with dynamic adventures. He served in the Army right out of high school, traveled to Germany, Korea, and various European countries while serving, then earned an honorable discharge. Later in life, Tom worked jobs in construction and drilling. Tom was everyone’s friend, and had an extremely generous spirit.

Tom fished as a child at the Rod & Gun Club, played hockey and frolicked in nature growing up in Concord, Massachusetts. These childhood interests continued when his family moved to Santa Barbara in 1976. He fished into adulthood while enjoying the outdoors and rode his bicycle all around Santa Barbara until his passing. His newest hobby was rock carving and he proudly made jewelry for his mother and sisters.

Tom’s knowledge of the world was great and he knew of every continent, country, and the politics and conflicts facing each and every culture. He was very intelligent, and learned through life events and hands-on projects. He wore his heart on his sleeve and would give anything he had to help one in need.

Tom had such a kind heart. Although he suffered from congestive heart failure for the last decade, he hoped he would somehow heal and get a new heart. This did not come true for our dear brother Tom, but what his family does know is that he is now with his loving mother Donna, his father Tom Sr. and his nephew, Ryan Gardner.

Tom is survived by his siblings; Lynne Hargett (Alexander) Ron Hargett and nephews, Beau Manning, Matthew Manning and his great nephew Jackson Manning; Stephanie Gardner (Alexander) and nephew, Nolan Gardner; Sandra Alexander and niece; Olivia Rottmann.

In the many challenges Tom faced in his life, he currently felt very comfortable in his housing at the Faulding in Santa Barbara, California. Donations to the Faulding Hotel in Tom’s name would greatly help humans in need.

The family will be celebrating Tom in a private service. Tom’s ashes will be scattered with his mother and father in Concord, Massachusetts.
