Arevalos
August 22, 1945 – February 29, 2024
Tony Richard Arevalos, age 78, went home to be with his Lord Savior on February 29, 2024. He passed peacefully, with his loving wife and daughters by his side.
Tony was born in Lompoc, California, on August 22, 1945, to Amalia and Jesus Arevalos, and was one of ten children. He was raised in Lompoc, California and attended Lompoc High School where he met his dearest Elizabeth (Betty) Eldridge. They graduated together in 1964 and married on June 20, 1964. They raised three beautiful daughters, Tina, Tammy and Tracy.
He and his family moved to West Covina, California in 1976. He retired from the Painters Union in 2020.
Tony was a handyman. He always had a project he was working on. He was also very active and enjoyed bike riding, fishing, swimming and playing soccer with his grandson and great grandson. He was very supportive of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was there for sporting events, graduations and all the big moments in their lives, even if it meant traveling across the world.
Tony was very generous and had the kindest heart. He loved his wife and his family very much and always put them first.
Tony was a devout Catholic and member of St. Peter and St. Paul Parish in Rancho Cucamonga, California.
He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Anthony, Serefina, Ignacio, John, Foley, Virginia, Nieves, Alice, and Angelo and his beloved granddaughter, Mercedes Tovar.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty, and their three daughters, Tina Arevalos-Jimenez (Martin), Tammy Nicholson (Steve) and Tracy Arevalos (Rob).
He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Jennifer Young, Janiece Scharmann, Martin Jimenez, Jane Nicholson, Emily Huerta, Julia Nicholson, Angel Tovar and two great grandchildren, Jaimeson Jimenez and Olivia Huerta.
The family would like to thank everyone who came out to visit Tony over the past few months.
A Rosary will be held on Wednesday, March 6 at 4:30 pm at La Purisima Catholic Church at 213 W. Olive Ave. A private, family only viewing will be held at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary from 8:00 am - 9:00 am. A funeral mass will be held at La Purisima Catholic Church at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 7. Burial to follow at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery at 600 South C Street, with a Celebration of Life to follow at Lompoc Veterans Memorial Building at 100 E Locust Ave #102.
