Obituary

Tony Jess Moya passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on July 12, 2021.  Tony was born in Coffeyville, Kansas to Sara and Joseph Moya (deceased) the oldest boy of 7 all but a sister is living.  Dad was diagnosed in 2013 with functional dementia although it is lesser of the disease it was not easy when he would get his sundowners and asking where's mom and always wanting to go home.  His and mom's wishes were to live and die at home and we as a family were able to fulfill.  As we look back on the hard times, we had so many sweet and laughable moments that we will forever remember.

Our father an Airforce Vietnam Veteran served his country proudly traveling the world with his loving wife JoAnn Ruth Moya and their six children.  They met in Rapid City South Dakota when dad started his Air Force Career.  Dad retired from the Airforce after 22yrs of service where we moved to Lompoc in 1969.  He worked another 20yrs at Lompoc Penitentiary retiring and helping grow JoAnn's Candies and Cakes with our mom JoAnn into a successful family business of 37yrs.  If he was not at the store, he was taking care of the household gardening, cooking and cleaning always with a smile on his face and a lil joke under his breath.  Dad was active in our local Elks Lodge 2274 and a lifelong member, a Grand Knight for La Purisima Knights of Columbus order 3570.

Tony is survived by his beloved children Kimberly and Raymond Ochoa, Michael and Jo Ann Moya, Mark Moya, Toni and Jim Peppler, Vincent Moya and Christopher Moya and their families.

Pops you're no longer suffering or in pain the family misses you, but we are not sad but that of joy.  We know that you are in the arms of our mom and in the arms of our Lord and your family and friends that have been patiently waiting for you.  Until we see each other again know that we will continue your legacy.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, August 13, 2021, at 10 am at La Purisima Catholic Church. Reception to follow.  In lieu of flowers please donate to a local charity of choice.
