Obituary

Tyler Leon Tibben was born on December 13, 1990, in Santa Maria, California, to Lawrence Leon Tibben and Annette Iris Tibben.

From a young age, Tyler was bright, curious, and always full of mischief. His smile was infectious, and his kindness made him easy to love. He had a natural ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Whether you were a friend or family, Tyler was fiercely loyal and endlessly generous.

Tyler lived life with a sense of adventure. He loved basketball, weightlifting, and anything that gave him an adrenaline rush. He had a competitive streak, especially when it came to board games—his triumphant giggle after a win was unforgettable. Whether competing in sports, showing off his strength, or tackling a hot wing challenge, Tyler was always in his element.

After suffering a traumatic brain injury several years ago, Tyler faced immense challenges, including being confined to a wheelchair and undergoing multiple brain surgeries. But even through the most difficult moments, he never lost his spirit. He remained kind, full of laughter, and ready with open arms for a hug. He lived and loved with his whole heart.

The greatest joy in Tyler's life was his daughter, Ty'Leiyah Leona Tibben. He was a devoted and loving father, and his bond with her was unbreakable. Tyler was also a cherished son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend.

Tyler passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Ty'Leiyah Leona Tibben; his sister, Tasha Bukowski (Allan, Beau, and Amara); brothers, Joshua Pierson (Lena, Cade, Keegan, and Ella) and Randy Benson; and sister, Sarah Pierson. He is also survived by his Aunt Yvonne and Uncle Robert Audiss (Nathan and Isabella); Uncle Tom and Aunt Margarite Tibben (Nadene Graham and Erica Berryman); and maternal grandparents, Anne and Roy Beck.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Holly Cain (Brianna, Tyler Rose, and Jamison Mortellaro); his father, Larry Tibben; and many other loved ones who surely greeted him in heaven with open arms.

In honor of Tyler's generous spirit and his love for shoes, the family kindly asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations of new shoes or socks be made to your local homeless shelter.

Tyler will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his warmth, resilience, and the joy he brought to everyone lucky enough to know him.
