Vaughn was born in McGrath, Alberta, Canada to Emery and Lucile Gurney.  He died Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at the age of 86.

Vaughn graduated from Magrath High School and Brigham Young University.  Formerly of Utah, he has been a resident of Lompoc since 2013.  He was a member of the Trinity Church of the Nazarene.

Vaughn enjoyed the simple things in life.  A man of few words, he was always ready to listen in a non-judgmental way.  Vaughn was kind and loving.

He will be greatly missed by his wife June and their children, Darin (Jill), Renay (Greg), Beth, Charlotte (David), April (Kary), grandchildren and great-grandchildren; also his siblings, Ruth, Barbara, Blair, Shane and Linda.  Vaughn was preceded in death by his brother Woody.
