Veda Gail Battison, age 91, was born in ​Duncan, Oklahoma to Elmer and Joy Davis on November 30, 1931. She entered Heaven's gates and received her crown of glory on July 19, 2023.

Veda was a loving mother and a homemaker, but most of all she was a remarkable Christian woman who loved Jesus her whole life.

Veda passed peacefully at her home with her daughter Shawn and her family by her side.  She was predeceased in death by her husband, William Battison of 40 years, and her son, Patrick Battison. She also outlived her siblings, Carlos Davis, Gwen Van Zant, and Darwin Davis; Veda was the eldest of all her siblings.

Veda is survived by her daughter Shawn Elaine Johnson, her husband (Shawn E.), and daughter Brenda Battison-Smith (Greg). Grandchildren, Kassie Gladden, her fiancé Freddy Cruz, Alec Rodriguez, Kyle Smith, Brittney Smith and her fiancé Josh Bailey, Megan Smith, and great-grandchildren, Josiah, ​Cienna, Gabriel, Abigail, Olivia, Juniper, and Conner, the family dog!

Veda had a motto, if you knew her, you knew this one thing she readily said, "God is Good – God is good to me."  Her love poured out on everyone around her, and you felt it in her presence.  Her peace, which surpassed all understanding transcended through Jesus Christ.  Veda knew where she was going; she was ready to be in the arms of Jesus.  Proverbs 31:10-31

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Lompoc Church of Christ: 138 North O St. Lompoc, California. There will be food and fellowship following the celebration.  Please join us in celebrating our love for Veda.
