Veronica Baldwin April 5, 1935 - November 5, 2024

Veronica Mary Cooke was born to Michael and Mary Cooke on April 5, 1935, in Newton Le Willows, United Kingdom.

She met her future husband, Walter Baldwin, at a dance in England in 1952. After their marriage, they raised two children, Debbie and Michael, while Wally served in the Air Force. They were stationed in several states before settling in Lompoc, California. Veronica and Wally were married for almost 50 years until his passing in 2002.

Veronica was known for her love of children and provided childcare for many in the neighborhood over three decades. She could juggle well into her 70s. Her favorite quote was "You're lost in this world without common sense." She was the "Nanny" (grandmother) everyone wishes for and was beloved by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Baldwin. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Baldwin; son, Michael Baldwin (Kathleen ) ; granddaughters Jenny Gratiot (Jim) and Heather Robison (Nick); and great-grandson Jamie Gratiot. Arrangements under Starbuck Lind. A memorial is planned for after the holidays.
