Victoria Rae Tharp went to heaven on December 23, 2018, in Lompoc, California.  She was 74 years old and had lived there most of her adult life.  She was the wife of Dick Tharp.  They shared 53 years of marriage together and three children.

Born in Santa Maria, California, on September 22, 1944, she was the daughter of Paul and Gertie Dal Porto.  She married in 1965 and was a stay-at-home mom.

She was very supportive of her Lompoc community and could frequently be seen out and about on her scooter or as she liked to call it "running." Her main hobby was doing crossword puzzles or playing games with her husband.  One thing in life she loved the most though was definitely her family.  She never missed an occasion, birthday, or game.  She will be remembered for her courage battling multiple sclerosis, her selflessness and love of her family, among many other qualities we will miss.

She is survived by her husband Dick, her daughter Donna Rainwater and her husband David, her daughter Cristina Newby, her brother Dick Dal Porto and his wife Judy; her sister Dolores Feliz and her partner Frank, her grandchildren Amanda French and her husband Tom, her grandson Paul Rainwater and his wife Nicole, and her grandson Anthony Newby. She was also blessed with numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son Tony Tharp and by both of her parents.

Vickie's Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at 11:30 AM at her daughter Donna's house at 3947 Agena Way in Lompoc. Please bring your favorite dish to share and a favorite memory. To match her colorful personality in life, the family asks for bright colors to be worn instead of the traditional black.
