Obituary

Memorial services for Vincent Tracy Simmons , 45, of Lompoc, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary with Pastor Duane Armstrong of Trinity Church of the Nazarene officiating. Inurnment will be private.

Vincent, known as Tracy by his friends, was born March 10, 1967 in La Paz, Bolivia. He moved from Latin America to the United States when he was a young boy. Tracy lived in Joshua Tree, Calif. before enlisting in the United States Air Force. During his military duty, Tracy worked as a security policeman. While stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base, he met and married Melissa Chambers. After his air force duty, Tracy studied electronics at ITT Institute. His most recent position was production supervisor in the field of geodigital mapping at GeoDigital International in Lompoc. Tracy liked fishing and boating, and he was a fan of NASCAR Racing. His greatest enjoyment and pastime was watching his son play football.

Tracy passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at his home.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Melissa Simmons of Lompoc; son Joseph Simmons of Lompoc; parents Vincent and Maedean Simmons of Joshua Tree, Calif.; sister Tina Lewis of San Bernardino; and numerous nieces and nephews.
