Obituary
Services for Violet Marie (Schaller) Lancaster, 85, of Lompoc were held Friday, June 27, 2008 in Lompoc. Violet was born July 23, 1922 in Brainerd, Minnesota to Anton and Rose Schaller. She worked at the Scotts stores in Brainerd and the diet kitchen at St. Joseph's Hospital. On June 18, 1965, she married James R. Lancaster and settled in Cotton Plant, Arkansas. After her husband passed away, she moved to Lompoc in 1987 to be near to her sister.
She loved to write letters and correspond with friends and pen pals across the country. Another favorite pastime she liked was tatting, and used this talent to make gifts for many of her friends and pen pals.
She died Monday, June 23, 2008 at the Convalescent Care Center in Lompoc.
Survivors include her sister, Virginia Hood of Santa Maria, Calif.; brother Donald Schaller of Long Prairie, Minn.; niece, Kathy Iverson of Santa Maria and nephew Kenneth L. Schaller of Edina, Minn.
