Obituary

Walter James (Jim) Logsdon was born on July 3, 1941 in Claremont, Indiana to Jack William Burnell Logsdon and Charlotte Bendler Logsdon. He died Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Marian Medical Center in Santa Maria with his wife and children by his side. Jim worked over 40 years in the HVAC mechanical industry. He entered the field in Indiana, but also worked in Arizona, Oregon, and settled in California where he started his own energy management systems company . He retired in 2009. Jim was very active with Mission Hills Community Church. He faithfully attended church, participated with bible study, and worked on the church. Jim was also Governor of the Moose Lodge in Lompoc. His hobbies included fishing, golfing, bingo, watching Nascar racing, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Jim is survived by his wife Marilyn Ann Logsdon, daughters Debra Tosch, Mary Ann Trudeau (Dave), son Michael Logsdon (Naomi, Steven Logsdon (Jackie), Mark Logsdon (Davee), 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Jim was also known as "Pappy Jim" by his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, sisters Fernie Clark, Cathy Modlin and Sharon Shuck.
Services will be held 11am Friday, January 6, 2017 at Mission Hills Community Church, 3625 Rucker Road, with Pastor Michael Cook officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Private burial at the Lompoc Cemetery will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude's Hospital or a charity of your choice. Arrangements are in the care of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
