Obituary

Walter Lee of Lompoc passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at the age of 72.

Walter was born December 21, 1934 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was raised and educated in Plainfield, Indiana. After graduating from high school he joined the U.S. Air Force. During his 28 years of service he was stationed in Viet Nam, Thailand, Port Hueneme, and in 1976 he was sent to Vandenberg Air Force Base. He retired from the military in 1980. He later went to work for McDonell-Douglas and Quintron in Oman, Saudi Arabia and Israel.

Walter was a past commander of American Legion Post 211 in Lompoc. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, golf and watching all sports on TV, especially the LA Lakers. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Walter is survived by his wife of 38 years, Malee Lee of Lompoc; sons, Anuwat Lee of Lompoc, Apichart Lee and his wife Venetia of Lompoc, Michael Lee and his wife Rebecca of El Paso, Texas; daughter Michelle Lee of Lompoc; sisters Patty and Mary, both of Indiana; grandchildren, Andrew, Brittney, Sean, Ashley, Christopher, Deanna, Kayla and Mya.

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 21, from 4-7 p.m. at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. The funeral service will be on Friday, June 22, at 1:00 p.m., also at the mortuary. Cremation will be followed by private inurnment.
