Waunita Isabell Brown of Lompoc passed away July 3, 2012, at the age of 100, due to Pneumonia after a brief illness.
Waunita was born March 7, 1912, in Crystal Lake, Illinois to Roy and Mary Eggericks. A 44-year resident of Lompoc, she was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, the Miguelito Chapter 176 of the Order of the Eastern Star, a past member of the Ladies of the Oriental Shrine and the Half Century Club. She was a frequent participant in the Lompoc Flower Festival Parade riding a tricycle.
Waunita loved Bingo, making dolls, crocheting and quilting. She also enjoyed making homemade cookies and candy for her many friends and family.
She is survived by her daughter Mary Lou Mitchell of Port Orange, Florida, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Brown in 1969, her daughter Darlene Lenoir, brother Roy Eggericks and her sisters Mildred Silvers and Ida Meyer.
A memorial service will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church on Wednesday, July 18, at 11am. Cremation will be followed by burial in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.
