Wayne Edward Hunt, age 69, passed away from this world and was received by Jesus Christ unto everlasting life in heaven. He was born in Levelland, Texas, and moved to Garden Grove (Orange), California at age 12. On February 18, 1969, Wayne, enlisted in the United States Army and served 3-years during the Vietnam War. He attended school in Orange County after service. He would spend most of his remaining years in the Oil Field Industry.

Wayne's favorite past times from his youth was driving his Woody Station Wagon to various beaches along the central coast and going surfing. Wayne's passions included: surfing, hiking, fishing, camping, and burl wood sculpturing. He later discovered a talent in making knives and sheaths. His knives were very unique to involve specially crafted materials made from horns of animals all over the world. For leisure activities Wayne and Saundra, his wife, enjoyed camping in the forest. They would search for natural trails in the forest to enjoy waterfalls and swimming holes. During their camping and hiking trips, Wayne and Saundra enjoyed bird watching. These are their favorite birds: Red Tail Hawk, Peregrine Falcon, White Tailed Kite, Bald Eagles, Crows, Geese, and wild parrots.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Saundra J. Anderson, his stepchildren and step grandchildren; his third wife, Rozanna Hurley Hunt; his second wife; Dana Hunt with their two children Gabriel (Christine) and Nicola (Brad) Wilson and his five grandchildren; first wife, Susan Mary Hunt, and their son, Jacob Thomas Hunt. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Lena Hunt and Doris Anna Stephens.

Wayne is preceded in death by his father and mother, Marvin Thomas Hunt and Billie Jo Flowers.

Celebration of Life Services will be held on Monday, July 9 ^th at 11 am at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary Chapel, graveside service to follow at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery, with Military Honors.

Wayne's wishes were for everyone to wear Hawaiian clothing, to remember him by his passion for surfing and the ocean.
