Obituary
Wayne C. Marrs of Lompoc died Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at the age of 68.
Wayne was born July 19, 1945 in Charlottesville, Virginia to Wesley and Alice Marrs. He was the eldest of six children. A resident of Lompoc since 1957, he graduated from Lompoc High School with the class of 1964. He joined the US Army in 1966 and served in Viet Nam. He received an honorable discharge in 1968. He completed his education by earning a degree in plumbing and steam fitting from Allan Hancock College.
Wayne was a journeyman with the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union #114 for 49 years where he was known as "Radar." He was a lifelong member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Wayne married Teresa Wilks in May of 1973. They had one daughter, Shannon. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Ronda Marrs. He leaves behind his siblings Dale (Barbara) Marrs of Lompoc, Lydia (Steve) Garlock, Norman Marrs of San Luis Obispo, Dorin (Abbi) Marrs of Lompoc, numerous nieces and nephews and his companions Buddy and Maggie.
The graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, August 2 2013 at 11 am in the Pavilion of the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery. A barbeque will be Saturday, August 3, starting at 11 am at Miguelito Park.
