IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Wendy
Saunders
May 31, 1940 – March 15, 2014
The life of Wendy J. Saunders as seen through the eyes of her children.
She was the seventh child of Olive Beteau and Alfred Lawrence of West Portland, Maine. After her father passed her mother married (Harold Pomeroy) and they had two more children.
Wendy grew up in Bridgton, Maine and met John P. Saunders (survived by) to whom she was married for over 55 years. They traveled to numerous United States locations and landed here in Lompoc, California. Together they had four children, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Throughout the years she played softball and bowled in various leagues. She was extremely dedicated to AAFES, Vandenberg AFB, California Service Station, in which she held several positions.
If words could describe her, it would be loyal, fun, giving unconditional love, a sports nut, loved chocolate and slot machines and working in the yard. Her infectious laugh made all love her. She always did things her own way - all the way to the end.
The visitation will be Thursday, March 20, from 4-7 pm and the funeral service on Friday, March 21, at 10 am at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. Cremation will be followed by interment in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
